She sees the bodies sprawled across her path, | silence left to echo in the aftermath. The light, banished from this waste land ground Memories left to sing without a sound. Bitterness calmed by sorrow's sweet smile All is seen though a black laced veil. winter's cool hand rested warmly on her chest Emptiness welcomed like an honourable guest. And when all hope is about to leave She hears your name rolling on the breeze, And there she sees you standing tall. Like a soldier returning home from war. You move to her as if in a dream You free her soul, her sins redeem. You bring a candle and light her heart Assuring her, you'll never part, You remove your armour and lay down your sword Claim defeat and pray to the lord "send and angel, to care for my love" But he has already sent you from above. Her take her hand and look her in the eye Sorrow's left behind with her love-filled sigh Complete happiness revealed by her smile As you kiss her lips beneath her white laced veil.
